Kinds of Nose Jewelry

Unfortunately, a lot of people known as any and all types of nose piercing accessories as nose rings, which is wrong.

U Bend - this is an accessories choice only for septum piercings. It is a little "U" shaped piece that can be put on with the ends flipped up within the nostrils, thus helping make the piercing undetectable. This is the only kind of nose piercing jewelry that can really be entirely invisible.

Ring - a small captive or fixed bead ring is very popular for nose piercings, and is the best-recommended for starter jewelry until the first healing period of time is over as they make it simple to clean the piercing thoroughly and it enables room for any swelling. Only rounded barbells, loops or hoops are really "nose rings.".

Bones/Studs/Pins - This is a short post-style piece of accessories with a small-sized bead or decoration that depends the outside of the nostril. Pieces described as "bones" or "pins" often do not have a traditional backing. Sometimes they are simply a straight post and in some cases the inside end terminates with a larger bead end. I get a many electronic mail coming from people fussing that bones are tough getting in and out and are uncomfortable to change. Please, don`t get a nose bone, for the first time. Practically, you'll just wind up ripping it out of your nose later if you ever wish to replace it.

Screw - a nostril screw is a type of accessories from India and have turned into very popular in Western piercing. It has a short post which then goes into a small curl. This curl fills in a backing and holds the accessories in position. A more contemporary variant on this style is the "L-bar" which has a straight piece on the inside end rather than a curl.

Spikes - it is yet another jewelry option for septums, and sometimes bridge piercings. It's essentially a direct taper worn horizontally through the piercing, with pointed ends that stick out. This is not for new piercings !
